Powerboat P1 is the fastest growing marine motorsport series in the world and has a long term commitment to growing and developing JetSki racing at all levels.

The countdown is well underway to the start of P1’s international race season, with Torquay and Miami set to host events this month before the world’s leading marine motorsport promoter makes its first ever visit to La Seyne-sur-Mer in south eastern France at the start of May, 5th and 6th.
Situated in the Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur region on the Mediterranean coast, La Seyne-sur-Mer will stage the first of four events on the P1 AquaX Eurotour calendar, with Agon-Coutainville, Minehead and Port Balis making up the 2018 schedule. This is the second year of the Eurotour following a successful three-round series last year which saw British rider Joe Harvey crowned champion.
A double bill of P1 AquaX and Jetcross racing at Les Sablettes Beach, which receives rave reviews on TripAdvisor, is expected to attract a record entry of around 150 riders from up to 12 countries. “In recent years the town has moved away from its traditional industries such as shipbuilding to tourism” explains Julien Bastien, European Head of P1 AquaX and Jetcross racing, “It boasts a superb, sandy beach, crystal clear water, wonderful views and Mediterranean sunshine, with the city of Toulon just a short ferry ride away across the bay.”
The two-day event will take place on the weekend of 5-6 May and follows the announcement that Experience Kissimmee, the travel and tourism authority in central Florida that promotes the destination domestically and around the world, has become the title sponsor of the P1 AquaX Eurotour . The commercial benefits include not only the naming rights but also TV exposure in more than 150 countries, sponsorship of two leading AquaX and Jetcross teams and event signage.
After badly breaking his leg in Spain in the final round of the 2017 campaign, Joe Harvey has fought his way back to fitness over the winter and will be hoping to kick off his AquaX title defence in style in La Seyne-sur-Mer . However, Thomas Favolini from the Occitanie region of southern France, will be a serious challenger, as he proved with his performance in the P1 AquaX World Championship in Key West last December.
The Jetcross stand-up series has reinforced P1’s growing presence in Europe after joining the family of marine racing brands in July 2016. Its International Pro Tour and Amateur tours will this year comprise five events in three countries, with La Seyne-sur-Mer being one of three French venues as P1 Jetcross and AquaX run side-by-side in Europe for the first time.
Looking ahead to the 2018 season, Julien Bastien says: “Riding the new Kommander GP1 hull along with his teammate Yoann Tollemer, Valentin Dardillat will be hoping to retain his Jetcross Pro Tour title after winning two of the four rounds last season. Belgium’s Quinten Bossche will be the official Kommander factory rider and I see him being a serious contender. Other riders to look out for will be the three Poret brothers – Morgan, Mickael and Jeremy – riding the new Bullett V3 machine, and last year’s championship runner-up Steven Loiodice. He and his teammate Laurent Tourlan have chosen to ride the Bullett V3 powered by the Kawasaki 3 cylinder 2 stroke engine. I can’t wait to see who will be heading the standings after this opening round of the season.”
